Green Line
Crossing between north and south
The Green Line is the administrative divide separating the Republic of Cyprus from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It is not an international border in the conventional sense, and movement is governed by specific regulations. For our guests, the experience is very straightforward: simply use the designated authorised crossing points and ensure you have your passport ready for inspection.
If you are crossing by foot in Nicosia, please note that both the Ledra Palace and Ledra/Lokmacı Street checkpoints are pedestrian-only.
For vehicle transfers, Metehan/Agios Dometios in Nicosia is often used, but your driver will choose the sensible crossing for the journey.
As you navigate these crossing points, we encourage you to maintain a respectful approach. These checkpoints are functional infrastructure, not a sightseeing tourist exhibition. Please keep cameras and phones away while in the immediate vicinity of any security or checkpoint personnel.
